a friend developed scoliosis because he was not doing the back exercises correctly. if he had a personal trainer, that wouldn't have happened

most people may not know this but if you have knocked knees and the like, there are different ways of doing the exercises so you won't damage your body and be like BobbyR's friend

i would personally go for having personal trainers than doing exercises alone for a couple of things: 1. if you train on your own, you tend to postpone the routine and end up not doing any exercises at all, and 2. a personal trainer will serve as a textbook on how to go about the routine/s.:)

i have a personal trainer. yeah, it is true -; it does cost extra, but it really is worth it. i don't have to guess if what i'm doing is right anymore.

i actually have the same situation. it turned out that fitness videos are not that bad after all. you just have to pick those user-friendly routines with step-by-step instructions. its like having your own personal trainer, free of charge.

hi j_gal! videos? lets see..i have a few but so far i llike Tamilee Webb's "i want those" videos. she has videos of each part of the body youd like to work on. im currently on the abs workout. I bought the video because the cover says that the routines will provide maximim result since they are product of scientific research.
try them! its really easy to follow along and her routines are designed to fit into any lifestyle. goodluck

Videos are great if you can't make it to the gym. It will still benefit you to have a few sessions with a personal trainer. Even if, it's just once a month. The personal trainer will tailor a workout just for you. They can adjust your workouts as you progress. The video is a little more general. However, a video is definitely much better than not working out at all. So, do what works best for you. Some people do better at video for different reason. Just be sure to gradually progress. If you want result you can't continue to always do the same video. You mushtchallenge yourself.

Both have it's pros and cons but I think starting with your own will most likely work since you have full power to discipline yourself . When you learn to discipline yourself and be strict with regards to your diet and exercise then you will be very succesful. If you already instill discipline in your self then it's like you have your own trainer. You don't need to spend much just to be fit all you need is discipline. I hope I was able to help! See you around!
