Hi! I workout 4 times a week, and i am very much conscious with my health but I have this problem, I usually wake up every night then crave for sweets and junkies. I don't know why this happens all the time. What must I do?

Hey brit, are you sure you're eating just enough during the day? you may be starving yourself in the morning that's why you naturally crave for more in the middle of the night. Make sure you maintain a balanced diet so you won't be feeling that craving.

it must be the night eating disorder, well it hasn't been formally termed as disorder but I know a lot friends who do the same thing, it's like they naturally crave to eat during this time. You know what, stress would probably be one of the reasons why it happens.

hmm. good to know that it's not only me who experiences this! do you think I would then gain weight if i continue doing this? i don't even know how to prevent it. But your opinion can be true, I'm prolly stressing myself too hard to be on a diet during the day, oh well.

don't worry too much brit, i'm sure you can be able to prevent yourself from late night eating. Having a balanced diet and 3 good meals during the day, and remember not to starve yourself. don't overdo your diet okay?

maybe you can follow this, whenever you feel that you want to eat drink a cup of water or a hot tea. this will help you loose appetite since your stomach feels full.

It is ok to eat late night or what you call midnight snack, but you have to be mindful of what you eat, it's alright to eat light, low fat and no calories food at night but don't over eat, because as we all know excessive eating is not healthy.

maybe you don't eat that much during the day, they say eating 4 meals a day is ideal but it depends on what you eat. so i think a midnight snack wouldn't be that bad if you'd be conscious of what you're going to eat.

Replace your sweet snack with a late night fruit. Most fruits are sweet and that will take away that sweet tooth you have at night. Are you gaining weight from your late night sweets?

I would try your suggestion, last time I weighed in I found out I added 2lbs. whew!! maybe it's a sign telling me to better do something with my late night eating. *sigh*

aside from the possibility that you're not eating that much in the day maybe you're not drinking enough water. sometimes our body sends us signals and we sometimes mistake them for hunger when in fact we're just thristy.

Maybe you are eating smaller amount of food than what your body really needs. Diet does not mean starvation. You can never get fit or thin through starvation. Craving will just force you to eat more and voila! More fat on your tummy. Don't skip meals because that won't help you loose weight.

I have known a lot of people that feels the same intense appetite at night. some says it is really normal to get more hungry especially when you are awake past your bedtime. I don't know if this is true but they also said that you use more energy at night compared to the amount of energy you consume at daytime. That's the reason why you get this cravings even though you have eaten your dinner already. The body is like an engine it never runs without a fuel. Unless you will not use it then you don't need fuel. At night when you should be resting and not using your engine, you said you are awake and thus you need a source of energy and that's where food comes in.

i think it's because of stress. Just want to share that there is a study about late night eating, it states that calories cause weight gain no matter when you eat them.
