Nell McAndrew: Ban the Word 'Diet'

FRIDAY, 28 DECEMBER 2007

If you want to lose weight, tone up and get fit then you should just "get stuck in" and "don't diet" according to Nell McAndrew. She adds that putting off exercise means putting on weight.

The super fit celebrity offers this advice and much more as Guest Editor of Women's Fitness magazine which hits the shops in the New Year - just when most people are considering going on 'a diet' and/or wondering just where to start with a fitness programme.

"I think the word 'diet' should be banned as it usually makes people feel depressed and miserable," says Nell. "A diet just makes women feel like they have to control their whole life around it. It immediately makes you crave everything you are not allowed! My advice is to eat lots of proper meals and healthy foods and exercise: then you'll feel good and look good."

Nell jumped at the chance to guest edit Women's Fitness for its New Year issue so she could share her enthusiasm and motivational skills with the many women who aspire to her figure and fitness. But the beauty of Nell is that her workout techniques and favourite foods are very accessible - very high street. Yes, she's a celebrity. But her lifestyle is pretty ordinary and, as such, anyone can follow her advice and start to turn their own fitness and figure around.

Guaranteed Results with Nell's Exclusive Workout

Nell shares her own favourite workout moves for a complete body transformation in Women's Fitness in her exclusive workout. She also reveals her thoughts on fitness and New Year campaigns in the magazine through writing the Editor's Note and a candid interview. "My advice is to just get stuck in!" says Nell in the magazine. "If you're not feeling energetic, just go for a power walk for ten minutes then come back and before you know it, you'll be doing more than 10 minutes the next time. Build it up gradually - but don't wait. It's so easy to put it off but in that time, you'll end up putting on another half a stone and make it even harder for yourself!"

One of the best aspects of the issue is that Nell demonstrates six key exercises to help tone and trim the body. These are her personal favourites and are explained clearly and show her at the start and mid-point of each exercise. "These exercises are easy to follow - and they really work," says Nell. "Honestly, I don't follow new-fangled celebrity programmes - this is what I do because this is what works!"
