New Fitness Trend Takes South Florida by Splash

While most of the country is bundling up for the winter, three South Florida inventors and entrepreneurs have been kicking back in their pool – and making a huge splash on the local health and fitness scene. They’ve come up with a sleek new product designed to turn the average pool into a very serious workout machine, and in their words, the "ultimate fitness tool".

Called AquaVee, this all-singing, all-swimming fitness product is set to change the way we workout in the water for good. Designed by Alberto Roque, an ex-competitive swimmer looking for consistency and addition to his workout routine, AquaVee has already started making its way into fitness centers, health clubs and thousands of private backyard pools. But it’s not just swimming - AquaVee’s Pilates Plus extension takes advantage of the enormous growth in popularity of Pilates - with more than 10 million Pilates followers in the US today, up from 1.7 million in 2000. This is great news for everyone, as the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Heart Association recently updated their daily exercise guidelines to reduce the minimum amount of exercise required - to just 30 minutes each day.
