Men No Longer Neglected in the Fitness Industry

MONDAY, 24 MARCH 2008

Cary, NC - Men have taken the back seat these days when it comes to fitness, but Athletic Nation has turned this ideal upside down. Men now have a gym specifically created to fit their lifestyle and ego. Athletic Nation is the category killer of men's personal training.

"There is nothing else like us in the country," says Clay Garland, General Manager of Athletic Nation. While there is no shortage of facilities that target women as clients: Curves, Butterfly Life and Shapes, men do not have a single facility targeted to their style. Men do not want to go into a gym and do aerobics to oldies music. Athletic Nation's atmosphere is as manly as it gets: black and white walls, free weights, rubber matting, hard classic rock music, and training intensity that sends you home, seriously needing a shower.

To prove how dedicated he is to men's fitness, General Manager and Golf Professional Clay Garland will be running in two 5K races in April and competing in a sprint-triathlon in September. "If all I do is talk fitness, how am I any different than any other fitness guru? I put my money where my mouth is to prove to men that I mean business," says Clay. (PR.COM)
