George Hood is trying to regain his spot at the Guinness Book of World Records by pedaling for more than 132 hours in a stationary bike. In his previous record, he pedaled for 111 hours, 11 minutes and 11 seconds until it was broken by a cyclist from Tasmania.
This time, he will not be doing it for himself. He wants to regain the record and gather $50,000 for the YMCA’s Spin for Kids event. Proceeds will be given to hundreds of kids and families in YMCA. For the past years, YMCA was able to raise funds to improve their facilities for the kids. This year, they are planning to raise more than $500,000.
Hood started pedaling yesterday, 8:30pm, in Fry Family YMCA, 2110W 95th St. Naperville and is expected to be finished on May 11, 9am. Visitors can attend any time during the record attempt.
