Saturday mornings for New Yorkers now set sight on fitness, with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation spearheading the Saturday Fitness Walking Program, as part of their Be Fit NYC campaign.
Happening on all Saturdays of each month, the free one-hour fitness program organized by Parks and Recreation allows for an exercise regime amidst the historic architecture and greenery at Manhattan's Fort Tyron Park. The program is open to all levels. The fitness walk begins at Fort Tyron Park's Margaret Corbin Circle entrance and finishes at Anne Loftus Playground, and may extend to the GreenMarket at Seaman Avenue.
Details of the Saturday Fitness Walking Program are available at www.nycgovparks.org. For those who are interested, register by e-mail with Nancy at [email protected] or call Linda at (212) 795-1388.
