Masala Bhangra: Fusion of Fitness and Dance

Another fitness craze came to hit the United States. Masala Bhangra, a full body cardiovascular workout, has been found to be an effective calorie-burning workout for fitness enthusiasts. Originated from the words masala, which means spicy, and bhangra, an ancient Indian folk dance from Punjab, Masala Bhangra combines a sensuous dance form with the intensity of aerobics.
This exotic and unique workout was developed by Sarina Jain, coined as the Indian Jane Fonda and known to be the first South Asian fitness guru who has shared an exceptional Indian workout to the US population. A fitness instructor and choreographer for more than 15 years, Jain has created numerous music videos and commercials, and has her own company, the Masala Dance & Fitness, Inc.
The lively and upbeat dance workout is not only for adults but also for kids, with the Masala Bhangra for Kids developed by Jain. She now has three fitness centers in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, offering graceful and muscle strengthening workouts.
