National Women's Health and Fitness Day on Sept.24

This year's National Women's Health and Fitness Day will take place on the 24th of September. Held every last Wednesday of September, the Women's Health and Fitness Day is a nationwide program in the US which promotes healthy living through exercise and health awareness. The Women's Health and Fitness Day is part of the celebration of National Women's Health and Fitness Week held during the last week of September.

Various health and fitness activities including health information workshops and screening as well as exercise demonstrations will be held in various local communities. Through these events, women will be inspired to come up with healthy choices and make exercise a part of their regimen. This is organized by the Health Information Resource Center, the same organization which created the National Senior Health and Fitness Day celebrated every last Wednesday of May.

Local hospitals, health departments, park and recreation departments, schools, and health clubs across the US will take part in this health and fitness event for all ages. A National Women's Health and Fitness Day Theme Contest will also be sponsored by the HIRC and it is open to women who are 18 years old and above.
